San Francisco, CA — October 10, 2025 — Silo Technologies, a leading platform for supply chain management, inventory, sales orders, and payment processing in the perishable foods industry, today announced the appointment of Amy L. Gates as its new Chief Executive Officer.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning the produce and ag-tech sectors, Gates brings a unique combination of operational expertise and technology-driven innovation. She has built and scaled multi-million-dollar businesses, modernized supply chains, and driven global growth for companies including Frontera Produce and through her work as a consultant and strategic advisor to leading produce organizations across North America.
Gates’ background in both software and produce operations gives her a deep understanding of the challenges facing growers, shippers, and distributors. She began her career at Famous Software (Fresno, CA), later joining Frontera Produce (Edinburg, TX), where she rose through the ranks to serve as President. In her consulting capacity, she has continued to lead large-scale ERP implementations, food safety and traceability programs, and operational streamlining initiatives designed to strengthen compliance and profitability across the global produce supply chain.
“I’m honored to lead Silo at this pivotal moment,” said Gates. “Having worked both on the technology side and inside a grower-shipper operation, I understand the pressures this industry faces—tight margins, food safety demands, and the need for better visibility across the chain. Silo is built to meet those challenges head-on with solutions that work in the real world.”
Throughout her career, Gates has been recognized for her leadership in food safety, traceability, and supply chain transformation. She has served on the Produce Marketing Association Board of Directors, the Center for Produce Safety Board, the IFPA Food Safety Council, and the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) Joint Leadership Council. Her work has helped advance transparency, efficiency, and profitability across the global fresh food network.
“I’m excited to welcome Amy Gates as CEO of Silo,” said Steven Ballantyne, Operating Partner at Banneker Partners. “Amy’s rare combination of deep produce-software experience and proven operational leadership makes her ideally suited to steer Silo. Under her leadership, I believe Silo is positioned to help growers and distributors thrive with greater visibility, efficiency, and sustainable growth.”
Under Gates’ leadership, Silo will continue its mission to simplify the perishable supply chain through technology — equipping produce businesses with the clarity and control they need to adapt, grow, and compete in a fast-changing market.
